Dr. Filip Nielsen

Climate Architect Volvo Cars

Filip Nielsen works as an architect for climate systems with a focus on future systems for pure electric cars. In collaboration with the thermal management and battery teams, Filip and his team of architects work on creating a system that provides climate comfort in a silent and energy-efficient way. He graduated from Chalmers University of Technology in 2004 with a M.Sc. in Engineering Physics. After a period as a consultant he joined Volvo Cars in 2006. There he has worked in many different positions within the area of climate control systems. In the spring of 2016 he defended his Ph.D. dissertation “Automotive Climate Systems – Current Energy Use and Future Energy Saving Measures” and since then continued working with climate systems and energy use at Volvo Cars
